Fire Suppression System

Not all fires are the same. Different fuels create different fires and require different types of fire extinguishing agent.
If you use the wrong type of fire extinguisher on the wrong class of fire, you might make matters worse.
Most fire extinguishers will have a pictograph label telling you which type of fire the extinguishers are designed to fight.
The most common types of fire suppression systems are:

The Carbon Dioxide
Fire extinguisher is a liquid mixed filled in its container. Its thinning out in the air converts it from liquid form to a mist-like dry ice compound that spreads like a blanket over the flames. This cool complex neutralizes the oxygen that sustains the fire's combustions.
This type of fire extinguisher is recommended for types 'B' and 'C' fires. It is by removing one of the elements of fire that prevents the fire from ignites once more. When spraying on a type 'B' and 'C' flame calls for a spray expected at the base of the fire a few feet away from the fire. Spraying should go from side to side with the base of the fire.

Fire Foam
suppression, this type of fire extinguisher is recommended for types 'A' and 'B' fires.
As it reads, the foam made from nitrogen. When sprayed upon a flame the chemical foam spreads on the flame covered materials and liquids and forms a film on it which neutralizes the burning of the material. Its role is to calm the fire and to cover the fuel.

Dry Powder fire suppression are used for types ‘A’ ‘B’ and ‘C’. Are often seen in a home, workshops, kitchens and anywhere combustible solids and liquids are. This type of fire extinguisher is also recommended for electrical fires. Powder Fire Extinguishers are dry substances packed in high-pressurized containers. It works by chemical reaction with the fire causing the element to increase, chemically reducing combustion and ejecting the oxygen necessary for combustion thereby "knocking down" the flames. Dry Powder fire extinguishers are color coded with a blue label.

Wet Chemica
l are especially designed for cooking. This should be used in a commercial kitchen with cooking oil and fat. Wet Chemical fire extinguishers are the only extinguisher on the market today that can be safely used on class F (Deep fat fryer) fires. Supplied with a unique applicator to allow the user to stay a safe distance from the fire at all times developed specifically for use on deep fat cooking fires. Wet chemical agents form a kind of salt compound that displaces oxygen from the fire elements.

The Water Mist System
can be used for Class B type.
Water is forced through micro plungers at very high pressure to create a water spray with the most effective fire fighting slump size distribution.
The Water Mist System provides better protection for personnel and minimizes potential water damage, as the majority of the water mist evaporates. It works to reduce fire and hold damage to a minimum. It is a clean agent suitable for a range of sensitive applications and where people are involved.

Clean Agent
is a term to describe the use of static gases and chemical agents to turn off a fire. Also called: Gaseous fire suppression.
The system typically consists of the agent, agent storage containers, fire detectors, fire detection system.
